9 Children's Movies That Are Way Creepier Than You Remember

6. Labyrinth

Labyrinth is horrifying for many reasons, not least of which is David Bowie's prominent bulge at the forefront of every major scene. (Seriously, that thing could have had its own sequel.) Arguments have been made positing Labyrinth as an allegory for everything from mind control to date rape, and while there is certainly some validity to those theories, there's plenty of terrifying business right on the surface. You don't really have to go digging for the creepy bits.

Yes, the scene of the girl falling down the, ahem, "Shaft of Hands," has a lot of rape-y subtext to it, but let's not forget that hundreds of gross, scaly fingers are actually groping her the whole way down. Like, right there. Not metaphorically. Not "emotionally." They're feeling her up in plain sight. And the sentient appendages group together to form faces. That can actually talk. Disembodied, grayish-green hands make faces that speak with voices like Super Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II.

So yeah...we need not worry about Bowie's bulge when we're getting slapped in the face with sexually assaultive, bodiless hands.
