Though reboots in Hollywood are becoming increasingly more common, comic book movies are in a league of their own when it comes to continuity reboots and the more fashionable term, "retcons" (meaning "retroactive continuity") that alter a previously established fact or series of events. This can be to fix a nagging issue in previous, poorly-received stories, or simply because the new filmmakers don't give a crap about what came before. Retconning movies generally isn't a great thing - it can lead to audience confusion (especially for more casual audiences who don't understand the amorphous nature of multiple authors, timelines and arcs in comic book lore), but sometimes a clever retooling, as with last summer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past, can be just the palate cleanser fans were looking for. These 9 moments would all benefit from being scrubbed off the face of cinema with new and improved updates. Whether it literally plays into the same continuity or is itself already a reboot, the upcoming work needs to fix these huge issues, be it poor casting or simply terrible writing, and ensure that it doesn't happen again.
