9 Creepiest Clown Movies Of All Time

This qualifies less as a “killer clown movie” and more as a “writer loses his mind movie”, but technically, the main antagonist is a killer clown. Final Draft, a 2007 movie starring James Van Der Beek, tells the story of a writer whose past comes back to haunt him in the form of a cigar-smoking, mallet-wielding clown who seems to be “offing” people close to him.

The film isn’t “scary,” per say, but Van Der Beek puts in an admirable performance and the claustrophobic setting of the majority of the movie is slightly unnerving. There are a couple of jump scares too, and since it’s actually a fictional movie, unlike the former entries, you feel less “icky” after watching it. But it does still have a relatively dour ending, and the clown is far more memorable than the film itself.
