9 Films To Watch On Netflix UK In July (And 1 To Avoid)

5. The Hunger Games Collection

Bridesmaids Airplane Kirsten Wiig
Lionsgate

Arrived on July 1, 2019

Relive the epic saga of Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, as she fights for her life, her family and her district. All four of the Hunger Games movies have been added which are based on the best-selling dystopian book trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

The first two films centre around the Hunger Games, a cruel annual televised competition that sees children fight to the death. Basically, a child murder version of Big Brother but without The Diary Room and about the same amount of screaming. Then the series shifts gears into a tale of full-scale revolution. They decline in quality after Catching Fire (the second instalment) but by that point, you might as well see the story through.

The Hunger Games has won multiple awards. Most of them teenager related. Despite the gruesome subject matter, this is very much a young adult series though they are plenty accessible for older audiences as well.
