Those Who Wish Me Dead is an upcoming movie starring Angelina Jolie, Nicholas Hoult, Tyler Perry and Jon Bernthal. It is a neo-western directed by Taylor Sheridan, who received widespread acclaim for his scripts for Wind River, Sicario, and Hell or High Water. These films combined to make his trilogy about the modern-day American frontier. He also wrote the screenplay for Sicario's sequel.

The film is based on Michael Koryta's novel, where a teenage murder witness is hidden in a wilderness skills program. Twin assassins cut a bloody swathe through anyone shielding him, while a forest fire threatens to kill them all. Koryta co-wrote the screenplay with Charles Leavitt and Sheridan.

Sheridan's style of writing and directing comes from his time as an actor, where he developed an 'allergy to exposition'. He focuses on simple plots that better allow characters to shine. He is known for playing with form and structure in his screenplays.

The film entered and completed production in the summer of 2019. It is due to release on HBO Max in May of 2021.
