9 Heroic Cats That Saved The Day In Horror Movies

7. Clovis and the Gang - Sleepwalkers (1992)

This movie was Stephen King's debut as a screenwriter, no adaptation from any previous novels or short stories. It revolves around mother Mary Brady and her son Charles, the titular Sleepwalkers, werecat-vampires whose favorite treat is the life force of young virgins, a rare delicacy that allows them to keep their youth and strengthen their powers. Oh yeah, it gets even weirder than that.

They have moved around for decades, if not centuries, following a violent cycle of stalking and hunting their prey in small unsuspecting towns. Sleepwalkers have an ironic weakness, though: they are incredibly vulnerable to vicious cat scratching and biting. To be honest, that's one of my weaknesses too. Once the vampires are exposed by final girl Tanya Robertson, all hell breaks loose.

After killing the town sheriff, the Sleepwalkers have a final showdown against the remaining police force. It's all or nothing, baby! That's when Clovis (the deceased sheriff's cat) and an army of enraged kitties storm the Brady household, inflicting fatal wounds on the Sleepwalkers and returning home in time for that evening's can of wet food. Well done, kitties, I salute you.
