9 Heroic Cats That Saved The Day In Horror Movies
5. Stray Cat - Attack of the Puppet People (1958)
Ever felt so hopelessly alone that you held conversations with your dolls? Yeah, me neither. And they're called action figures, OK? However, that's not the logic that goes through the mind of villainous Mr. Franz, a brilliant doll maker who has developed a miniaturization machine. How does he use this transcendental scientific achievement? He kidnaps his new secretary Sally and her fiancé Bob, of course.
He then turns them into doll-sized versions of themselves. But why? The thing is that old Bobo had proposed to Sally and persuaded her to quit her job. This doesn't sit well with Franz and the couple soon discovers that they are not the first to be shrunk by the demented doll maker.
When the police show up, Franz gets paranoid and decides to kill himself along with his dollies. Before that happens, Sally and Bob make their "big" escape and hit the streets. They are chased by a nasty rat that comes inches away from devouring them. Suddenly, a stray cat appears out of nowhere and totally annihilates the rodent. Hurray! They barely beat Franz back to the machine. What do you know? It can also enlarge. Time to go to jail, Mr. F.
