9 Horror Movie Heroes Killed By Their Own Vices

5. Randy Meeks - Scream 2

For Jamie Kennedy's Randy Meeks of Scream fame, his two major vices were horror movies and his affection for Sidney Prescott.

In some ways, it was Randy's obsession with both of these things that led to his downfall at the hands of Ghostface in Scream 2. Believing himself to be the oracle when it comes to the purported rules of horror, Kennedy's character maybe found himself getting a little too comfortable during this sequel.

Also, as established in 1996's Scream, Randy has a major soft spot for Neve Campbell's Sid. During Scream 2's early classroom scene, we see our resident film nerd proclaim how he'd "let the geek get the girl" for any sequel action - and it's those feelings for Sidney that are used to truly push Randy's buttons moments before his death.

With Ghostface having called him, this masked killer well and truly pokes the bear, mocking why Randy is even around, that he'll never be "the leading man", that'll he never be the hero, and he'll absolutely never get the girl.

Taking his eyes off the ball in a rage of anger, Randy is soon grabbed from behind by Ghostface and carved up in in Gale Weathers' broadcast van.
