9 Horror Movie Plot Points Secretly Introduced Earlier Than You Realised

2. Shaun Of The Dead - Ed’s Shed Dwelling

Invisible Man Thumb
Universal Pictures

Another master of foreshadowing and dangling details in front of your nose is Edgar Wright. In all of his Cornetto Trilogy he brings in oodles of cheeky nods and winks towards later events, all of which you can properly appreciate on a second watch.

To keep things to one entry we’ll focus on the foreshadowing of Ed’s zombification, but of course there are many other great moments in a similar vein in this film and its trilogy siblings.

Early on in the film, Shaun and Ed get into an argument with housemate Pete. Pete doesn’t particularly like Ed, to put it kindly, and thinks of him as a useless, slobbish energy-sink. The situation gets so heated that Pete yells at Ed, “you want to live like an animal, go live in the shed you thick f*ck.”

Of course later on Ed does become a zombie, a being only capable of acting on their most animalistic instincts. And incidentally, he also goes on to live in the shed!
