9 Insane Characters You Won't Believe Almost Ended Up In Famous Movies

1. The Original Cut Of Fantasia Had A Half-Centaur, Half-Black Girl Servant Character That Disney Hoped You'd Forget

Sunflower is without a doubt the most peculiar and bizarrely interesting inclusion on this list, mainly because she's a character who did - once upon a time - actually find herself without the frames of Walt Disney's Fantasia, only to be deleted at a later date in the hope that nobody would notice. So whereas your existing copy of Fantasia won't feature this little lass, the original theatrical version of this Disney classic did. The reason that Sunflower isn't in any of the released versions of the movie, then? Well, because she's a horribly racist caricature, of course. Yes, Sunflower was a half-centaur, half black girls servant character who turned up during one of its famous musical segments ("The Pastoral Symphony") to clean up and carry things for the other, whiter characters. Disney eventually realised that they'd made a mistake with all this racism stuff, and removed Sunflower from subsequent versions of the film. For a while, they apparently even pretended that Sunflower had never even been a part in the movie, until somebody found some old prints and proved them wrong. So whereas the character is now missing, it's weird to think at one time, this insensitive inclusion was considered part of the "fun." Like this article? Let us know in the comments section below.
