9 Legendary Deleted Film Scenes (You'll Never Get To See)

Christopher Nolan dislikes deleted scenes, feeling they demystify the final product. He€™s also pretty precise with his scripts during filming, so there€™s rarely much deleted footage anyway.

But Nolan'€™s distaste for them sees that so far no deleted scenes for The Dark Knight Trilogy have made it to home disc. Most of these scenes are inconsequential, with one of the more interesting ones happening in The Dark Knight, which shows how The Joker escaped from Bruce Wayne€™'s penthouse. The Dark Knight Rises has the juiciest deletion though, as the film€™s costume designer gave a lengthy description of a sequence that didn'€™t make it.

It would have revealed more of Bane€™'s backstory, showing him being attacked by prisoners, a primitive early version of his mask as well as his training by The League of Shadows. Apparently this training footage would have mirrored Bruce Wayne'€™s own in Batman Begins, linking the two men together even more. Nolan elected not to use this footage, probably preferring to keep Bane more of a mystery. And unless he changes his views on deleted scenes, it€™'s not going to be released anytime soon.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
