9 Marvel Characters Who Won't Survive Phase 4

1. Bucky

You need to think about something when it comes to The Falcon & The Winter Soldier: why does the title call Bucky "The Winter Soldier" now that he's been "cured" by Shuri in Wakanda? Here's another question to throw into the mix too: why did Steve Rogers actively choose not to give Bucky the shield and the Captain America mantle when he retired?

The second one actually has an answer, thanks to The Russos, who claim that Steve discounted Bucky because he "has a complicated history and a damaged mind. You don’t want to hand a very powerful weapon to somebody who is vulnerable like that." So much for being cured, then.

So, what if that's foreshadowing something bad happening to Bucky. Is he really cured? It would be interesting to see Zemo - the person who reactivated Bucky in Civil War, remember - uncover the fact that Bucky can NEVER fully be cured, leading to drastic measures.

How Will He Die?

Bucky has a lot of red in his ledger, to borrow Black Widow's famous quote and the idea of him just being able to live in peace was always a little strange. If he is to be reactivated in some way, it would make sense that he would choose to permanently deactivate himself and his potential to be used as a weapon too.
