9 Moments Which Pissed Off Movie Fans In 2020

8. Netflix Editing Back To The Future II

The Back to the Future trilogy is one of the most cherished franchises in cinema history. So, if you tamper with the sacred original cuts of these films in any way shape or form, you better be prepared for a sizeable amount of backlash.

This was a lesson Netflix learned the hard way in 2020 when fans discovered that the streaming service had cut a particular moment from the feature in the U.S.

The cut comes during the scene where Marty is seen looking at a copy of an 'Oh La La' adult magazine. In Netflix's altered version, a few of Marty's lines have been erased and the scene noticeably leaves out the magazine's cover.

As soon as it became clear that the streaming platform had tried to turn the feature into a safer watch for families, fans blasted Netflix online, with one Twitter user noting, "If they sloppily edited this beloved trilogy, WHO KNOWS what OTHER films they've tampered with without you even noticing?"

In the wake of this understandably p*ssed off response, Netflix have restored the film to its former glory in the States. Hopefully, this now means the streaming giant will think twice before messing with another absolute classic in the future.
