9 Moments Which Pissed Off Movie Fans In 2020

2. Unexpected Casting Decisions

It feels like we can't get through a complete 12-month period without fans losing their sh*t at the announcement of a particular star playing a character in an upcoming movie.

Last year we had folks slamming the decision to turn R-Patz, and 2020 has similarly seen movie goers up in arms about an odd casting choice.

Kristen Stewart was targeted after being cast as Princess Diana in the upcoming film entitled Spencer, with one fan in particular claiming that "Diana was class and elegance Kristen is the complete opposite of that."

Elsewhere, Gal Gadot, having successfully overcome the naysayers with her brilliant run as Wonder Woman, was cast as Cleopatra in an upcoming Paramount project. This move was then met with some more backlash, with one riled-up Twitter user posting, "So… there were no Egyptian women to play, um, an Egyptian queen?" Though some of Gadot's fans were quick to note that the Queen of Egypt was actually Greek.

Away from peculiar backlash aimed at actors who haven't even had the chance to bring their characters to life yet (and in slightly more positive news), a number of thespians were revealed to be dramatically returning to roles they had seemingly put behind them.

Jared Leto popping up as Joker in the "Snyder Cut", Jamie Foxx donning the Electro suit again in the MCU's Spider-Man 3, and a field of Batmans from days gone by returning in the DCEU's Flash feature have all left fans undoubtedly intrigued (and some understandably worried) about the future...
