9 More Actors Who Just Gave Their Worst Performance Ever

When Brie Larson appears in a picture these days, she sometimes has a hard time committing to the bit.

So goes her latest appearance in the MCU, leading the three-hander, miniature ensemble piece The Marvels as alien-superhuman hybrid Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. It's no small secret that the film has had the worst commercial performance of pretty much any major Marvel movie to date, especially given it cost $275 million to make.

Her performance may not just be her worst in the MCU, but her worst of all. While it wouldn't be fair to say Larson sank the film on her own, she didn't exactly help it float.

All in all, this tepid offering makes it difficult not to yearn for the days when Larson played her full range in supporting roles and retained her edge as something of a cool outsider, a la Scott Pilgrim's Envy Adams. What we really need is for the actor to break free of the MCU and deliver smaller-scale yet more adventurous performances again after being on a pretty lethargic run for some years now.
