9 More Actors Who Just Gave Their Worst Performance Ever

2. Ashton Kutcher - Your Place Or Mine

From one Netflix disaster to another, Your Place or Mine is another entry in the canon of the middling-to-awful romcoms the streamer churns out on a regular basis. Except, this time, instead of hiring the next up-and-coming nobody to flounder in the surf, they got noughties rom-com darlings Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon.

The pair play Peter and Debbie, best friends who swap houses for a week, discovering in the process that the lives they think they want may not be what's best for them - and that each other might be the answer.

Like Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail before, the film keeps its romantic leads apart for as long as possible. But, while this worked with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, who seem if not made for each other at least comfortable in each other's presence, it doesn't for Kutcher and Witherspoon. Their long-distance interactions and screentime together speak not of two friends of 20 years, but of an awkward couple who have been forced together for someone else's amusement (ours).

This is Kutcher's fault more than anything, as he didn't really turn up for the role, sleepwalking through his scenes, soft-serving the emotional moments, and cruising towards the easy payday at the end of it all. Given he starred in films like Dude, Where's My Car?, he should be embarrassed that this is his worst.
