Having appeared briefly in Star Wars: A New Hope and being name-dropped in The Empire Strikes Back, Jabba Desilijic Tiure really came to the fore in the opening act of Return of the Jedi.

With Han Solo's frozen torso on display as a trophy trinket in Jabba's Palace, the opening of that third Star Wars picture sees Leia Organa and then Luke Skywalker visit Jabba to try and rescue Han. That rescue mission would eventually pay off, but it wasn't without its fair share of hitches for our heroes.

While Luke would have to battle a rancor before then being faced with a gnarly death courtesy of a sarlacc, Leia was forced to be one of Jabba's minions. Decked out in a provocative gold bikini, the princess was gawped out and slurped over by the ever-creepy Hutt - and who knows what other intentions he had for Leia were it not for her managing to turn the tables on Jabba.

Said turning of the tables would play out as Luke was getting prepared to become sarlacc chow, with Leia seizing her moment to choke Jabba the Hutt to death with the very chain that he had enslaved her with. It was fitting, it was deserved, and it was a glorious act of revenge on Leia's part.
