Toy Story 2 embraced American patriotism in the scene where Buzz Lightyear gives an inspiring speech to his fellow toys. His rousing pep talk is set against the US national anthem and the Star-Spangled Banner serves as the background.
Audiences in certain territories would probably have thrown up in their mouths at this display of red, white and blue sentiment, hence why it was changed for the international markets.
Viewers outside of the US saw Buzz deliver his speech in front of a spinning globe while a Randy Newman tune called One World Anthem rings out.
So there you have it: Toy Story fans in America got a display of patriotism and those elsewhere got an extra helping of Mr Newman. It's hard to work out who got the raw deal there.
