9 Movie Villains So Stupid They Caused Their Own Deaths
Death by stupid is the best kind of death.
It's one of the oldest rules of drama (well, life, but for the sake of this article let's say drama): He who lives by the sword, shall die by it.
That means if you're a bad guy dispensing misery and death to others, don't be surprised if you meet a sticky end because of it. Usually the most satisfying villain deaths come about when they're undone by their own fiendish plot.
No matter how smart they think they are, their lack of hubris, foresight or just old fashioned stupidity brings them down. They might stall when they could simply kill the hero, or try to kill them via needlessly convoluted methods that backfire onto them. Sometimes they put themselves in a situation so insanely dangerous it's almost guaranteed to end in failure.
There have been some awesome examples of this in movies over the years, where the villain takes a turn for the stupid and causes their own death (the Bond series alone could have a list to itself). Depending on the situation it can either funny or annoying, a nice moment of karma or just lazy screenwriting.
