9 Movies From 2016 That Could Make A Billion Dollars

8. Captain America: Civil War

Estimated Box Office Gross: $1.2 Billion Captain America vs. Iron Man? There's something so great about the idea that it rivals even the likes of Batman fighting Superman. And so Captain America: Civil War will push the Marvel Cinematic Universe into bold new territories, in which the lines between "hero" and "villain" are blurred and iconic characters - many of which we've been watching on-screen for years and years - are forced to take sides in a great and terrifying face-off. Captain America: Civil War has already been hyped up all out of proportion, and given that it is essentially looking to be an Avengers-like movie disguised as a Captain America flick (that's to say, lots of the Avengers are set to appear), there's no reason to believe it will make any less than a billion dollars: Age Of Ultron just pulled in $1.3 billion after all, and Marvel's decision to place Robert Downey Jr. - the studio's most financially viable star - front and centre only increases the chances that this flick is going to be freakin' huge. The all-star line up; heroes forming alliances against another - it's a billion dollar shoe-in.
