9 Movies That Were Cancelled At The Last Minute

Silver & Black was Sony’s idea for a movie starring Silver Sable and Black Cat which would feature in their Sony Marvel Universe, which currently is comprised solely of Venom. There’s other movies in the pipeline, like a Venom sequel and Kraven The Hunter, but Silver & Black has hit the skids.

Both prominent characters in the PS4 game Marvel’s Spider-Man, Silver Sable is a mercenary leader and Black Cat a cat burglar extraordinaire. Both have been allies and antagonists of Spider-Man, with Black Cat an occasional love interest too.

It first came to light in October 2014, but this was merely as a female superhero flick in the Spidey universe. It wasn’t until March 2017 that we found out it was Silver Sable & Black Cat, with Gina Prince-Bythewood directing.

Various versions of the script had been worked on by Lisa Joy, Chris Yost and Lindsey Beer & Geneva Robinson-Dworet, but Price-Bythewood was unhappy with the final project, and it was retooled yet again.

Instead of Silver & Black, Sony will instead be making two separate movies, one for Silver Sable and the other for Black Cat, with Prince-Bythewood producing both but now directing neither.
