9 Movies With Surprisingly Low Body Counts
5. Tropic Thunder (1 Death)
For a movie that revolves around heavily-armed ignoramuses lost in a jungle near the base of an evil militia, this film has a remarkably tiny body count.
The focus of this film isn’t the taking of lives but rather exploring the eccentricities of life in Hollywood. In this case, it's the making of a Hollywood film set during the Vietnam War. We meet the reprehensible studio owner (played by Tom Cruise), the beleaguered movie director (briefly played by Steve Coogan, he’s the one killed during the filmmaking process) and the spoilt, demanding actors who are playing the Vietnam "soldiers" in question.
Most memorable of these actors is Robert Downey Jr. who displays remarkable comedic genius in his Oscar-nominated role as an Australian actor playing an African-American character.
With such strong performances, it's no surprise that the producers wanted to keep all of them around throughout the whole movie. No offence to Mr. Coogan.
