9 Movies You Didn't Realise Are Set In The Same Universe

1. Blade Runner & Soldier

Scream Jay and Silent Bob

Considered something of a spiritual "side sequel" to Blade Runner, Soldier certainly doesn't carry the same amount of prestige as it's sci-fi predecessor. One is an all-time classic of the genre and the other is simply a fun popcorn flick. And maybe that's why the links between the films' universes aren't discussed more often.

Blade Runner was based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. And although Dick wasn't involved whatsoever in bringing Soldier to the big screen, principal screenwriter David Peoples also had a hand in rewriting the original Blade Runner script.

So it shouldn't be too surprising to find Easter Eggs hidden all over Soldier, such as the battle that takes place at Tannhauser Gate, a location mentioned in Roy Batty's famous "tears in the rain" monologue. The spinner cars from Blade Runner can also be seen piled up in a junkyard in the background of another scene.

Perhaps most importantly (though not officially confirmed), it's clear that the supersoldiers being crafted are essentially replicants.
