Highlander is an epic fantasy series about an immortal Scotsman - embodied by the very French Christopher Lambert - who is forced to battle other immortals until only one reminds to claim The Prize. He Was Dead...: Lambert was aided in his journey by friend and mentor Ramirez (Sean Connery), himself an immortal, who halfway into the original movie losses his head in a battle with the main villain. The film ends with Lambert as the last remaining immortal, claiming his prize of mortality and infinite knowledge. The end. ...But He Got Better: But Highlander II reveals the immortals are really aliens sent to earth as punishment for a rebellion. A now elderly Lambert comes under attack by an old alien enemy, and his immortality is restored after taking the head of an assassin. He calls out for help from his old pal Ramirez, who magically returns to life. In a flashback on their home world, it's shown that when they dipped their hands into some magic goo, they formed a bond not even death can break. All Lambert has to do is call his name, and hell come running. So Connery comes back, steals some scenes and then dies again. Highlander II spits on the continuity of the original, contradicting it completely and even contradicting itself.
