9 Pointless Political Statements In Otherwise Awesome Movies

6. Political Correctness Gets In The Way Of Stopping Evil - The Incredibles

The Incredibles Few will argue that The Incredibles isn't a fantastic film, depicting a super-hero family that encounters problems when the father, Mr. Incredible, saves a suicidal man and ends up getting sued for his troubles, with the heroes eventually being forced to resign their powers. The politicising begins from the very outset, and in line with Pixar's other films, has a relatively Conservative message, that political correctness is extremely dangerous, and can get in the way of real progress, as well as stopping impending enemies. The Incredibles are tied up in regulations and red tape, and ironically, it is only when they flout this regulation that they manage to clear their names, defying the politically correct temperament of the time and saving the day. Though the film manages to succeed in spite of this, it does prove a little distracting.
