5. Bankers, Like, Totally Suck, Man - The Other Guys
The Other Guys is a (mostly) hilarious comedy about a pair of mismatched police officers (Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell) who team up to investigate a shady financial scandal. Though there are plenty of belly laughs to be had, the film goes from using its financial scandal to foster ripe comedy to trying to make a serious point during its closing credits, even if this is thankfully by the point that most people will have already left the cinema. Indeed, the credits of the film plaster up a number of statistics surrounding the financial crisis, and how these various schemes work. Regardless of political allegiances, it just seems phony and pointless, given that this is a silly comedy, and nobody going to see it is going to be watching in order to actually
learn something. The sheer desperation of just lobbing the message in willy-nilly near the end certainly doesn't help.
