9 Possible Characters Willem Dafoe Will Play In Justice League
2. Highfather
With Willem Dafoe having recently entered his 60s, it would be a little silly to try and pass him off as one of the more active team members. Dafoe would now fit comfortably in the role of the patriarch, much in the way that Michael Douglas was brought in to embody the historical precursor to Scott Lang's Ant-Man.
Again, if the main adversary of the Justice League is going to be Darkseid - which it absolutely should be - this is where DC needs to at least acknowledge his biggest opposition, the peaceful ruler and ultimate authority of the New Gods, Highfather.
This would also prove to be an effective link between universes, with Highfather remaining one of the sole links between the "old gods" and the new. He's a character with Superman levels of mythology behind him, but has remained untapped by live-action movies. Highfather could become an indelible part of the DCEU, finding his way into plenty of sequels and spin-offs.
And Dafoe seems custom-built for this part, as he's a presence that can demand the type of grand reverence and esteem that the Highfather requires. Simply based on the similarities between the character's traits and Dafoe's abilities, this would be the most reasonable choice.
