2. Killer Condom (1996)
Inane piece of German trash cinema, a gay detective is sent to a hotel to investigate bizarre killings that have gone on, involving men who have had their penises bitten off. He enlists the help of a random Gigolo called Billy. They fall for each other but when they do to have sex, a killer condom appears and bites off the detectives testicle. Now full of vengeance, the detective must work hard to solve the mystery of the maniacal condoms. The presence of killer condoms as the bad guys in the movie are no doubt a satirical comment about sex in Germany. The film is distributed by Troma in America and it is actually quite entertaining. The calibre of actors in the film is very good indeed. It has a well thought out (but ludicrous) plot. The characterisation of the film's protagonists is excellent and the movie benefits from the actors playing it dead straight - or gay should I say - the film is very pro homosexuality which adds to the film's uniqueness. It depicts gay love and sex very frankly in a non sensationalist manner. It almost sells the premise of killer condoms, but in terms of horror villains, they remain a pretty silly bad guy.
