9 Reasons Fantastic Four Is A Fantastic Fail

1. No Love For The Comics

The reason Marvel Studios has been so successful is that they've brought on people who clearly love the source material. But in every single interview given by cast and crew alike, the vibe that's been given off is that these people find the Fantastic Four comics to be a total embarrassment.

So why were they chosen in the first place?

Say what you will about Tim Story, but he clearly had an affinity for the comics. Maybe he had some strange ideas about how Doom was supposed to be portrayed, but there was enough in the tone of the film to give you the sense that, yes, this guy liked the comics.

The same can be said for the low-budget version in the early '90s that Avi Arad worried would cheapen the brand. Although the effects are awful and some of the acting is campy and over the top, there's still more heart and dedication in that film than there is in Josh Trank's version.

The time has come for Fox to realise that the ship has sailed on their version of the Fantastic Four. Third time is not the charm and we should all be very wary of a fourth . They just need to bite the bullet on this and offer the Fantastic Four rights back to Marvel in exchange for those X-Men TV rights.
