9 Rejected Ideas That Were Recycled In Other Movies

7. The Military Dino Splicing Was Intended For Jurassic Park 4

Genetic tinkering has always been a major part of the Jurassic Park franchise, but as Jurassic World so aptly states, it was never going to be enough to just bring back dinosaurs. As interest wained in the remarkable, the franchise was drawn more towards the ridiculous as more and more outrageous dinosaurs were sought. And that mostly meant making them up.

The genetic splicing story element almost went too far with one version of Jurassic 4, though. That planned sequel would have focused on rival armed factions racing to retrieve dino-DNA left behind at the original park. There would have been drug lords, hybrid dino-soldiers and a villain who lived in a castle called Baron Herman von Drax who had his own army of spliced super-raptors that he wants to train for combat.

It was rightly rejected for being ridiculous (presumably), but then Jurassic World borrowed the militarised raptors and trainer idea and then Fallen Kingdom took the super-raptor idea. So it just goes to show that not all terrible ideas have to be abandoned altogether.
