5. Benicio Del Toro Will Be Thrawn
One thing we do know about Episode VIII, and it's courtesy of the man himself, is that Benicio del Toro will be in at as a villain. Or at least, a sort of villain. So who could he be? While Lucasfilm have thus for steered clear of the Legends stuff so far in this new trilogy, they are able to dip into it should they see fit. And if they're looking for an iconic villain, then Grand Admiral Thrawn would be one many Star Wars fans would be delighted to see turn up. The lead antagonist in Timothy Zahns Thrawn Trilogy (a major part of the Expanded Universe), set a few years after Return of the Jedi, he's given the title of Grand Admiral on account of his intelligence, and his ruthless nature. That's certainly something that del Toro could handle, and bringing Thrawn to the screen would please those fans unhappy at the EU being ignored, though you'd imagine they'd still put their own twist on the character if it does turn out to be true,
