1. Pluto's Crawl
Kayako crawling down the stairs in The Grudge, Regan also crawling down the stairs in The Exorcist, Samara crawling out of the TV in The Ring... If there’s a kid in your movie and you make them get on all fours and rush at the protagonist you better believe it will be the scariest moment in your film.
Pluto is the double of Jason and possesses his love of masks and fire, though vastly exceeds his enthusiasm for both. Pluto’s mode of transportation is, well, his feet as well as his hands. When he’s stationary he is usually at a crouch and rocking back and forth as a feral child would.
It seems as though the director cut out frames during Pluto’s crawl in order to make it seem faster, creepier, uneasier, and creepier (it warranted seconds.) Pluto eventually goes down in a blaze of glory (emphasis on the blaze) but his nightmarish way of advancing far and away won the most horrifying shrieks of the film.
