9 Scary Movies You're Too Pussy To Watch By Yourself This Halloween

5. Shutter (2004)

Who the hell is the actress who plays the creepy, Ring-esque girl in this movie and why does she want to make me afraid of everything in my neighborhood? Have I wronged her in some way? What does she require of me to make the nightmares stop?? SOMEBODY PLEASE ANSWER ME! Wow, sorry about that.

Anyways, this Japanese ghost flick is widely considered a masterpiece (unlike the thoughtless American remake it inspired, naturally), and a most of that should be attributed to the acting and a plot that mixes nearly every horror movie cliche in a blender and pours out a nice, ice cold milkshake made of I HATE YOU, YOU CREEPY F*CKING GIRL! I HATE YOU SO, SO MUCH! ...I'm fine. I'm fine.

She doesn't still haunt me in my waking nightmares or make me too afraid to use the bathroom in the middle of the night or anything. So, yeah, the atmosphere throughout this one is bowel-clenchingly tense, with very little time to fully catch your breath. It's eerie, panic-inducing horror at its most callous.
