9 Sci-Fi Movies That Flopped Hard In 2022

Released in January 2022, Dual stars Doctor Who and Avengers alum Karen Gillan as a woman who unexpectedly recovers from a terminal illness. And there's also a clone of herself? Who she has to fight to the death? What?

Also starring Divergent actor Theo James and Jessie Pinkman himself Aaron Paul, Dual was set for big things and even received its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

However, this was about as good as it got for the movie.

Dual absolutely tanked at the box office, raking in less than half-a-million dollars worldwide. It took just one tenth of its production budget, and remember what we said earlier about those? Yikes.

Audiences just didn't want to see this film, which is strange. It wasn't up against any major competition, had some huge star power attached to it, and had an intriguing concept. But none of this mattered one iota.

It got some decent reviews though, so not all hope is lost for Dual. Maybe it should just make a clone of itself and try again. Or, you know, just market itself a bit better.
