9 Simple Fixes That Would Have Saved Avengers: Age Of Ultron
3. Have A Different Final Battle
An issue with a lot of Marvel movies, and it's one that can be linked to their even bigger villain problem (more on that later), is the whole 'battle in the sky' ending they often seem to go for, with multiple enemies alongside the big-bad, usually involving some helicarriers or other type of ship, and an alien or robotic threat; Avengers, Iron Man 3, The Winter Soldier and Guardians Of The Galaxy all used it, and now so has Age Of Ultron. At least in this one there was the notable attempt at saving the people from the mass destruction - in what felt like a targeted response to Man Of Steel's ending - but even that wasn't enough to make it feel different; swap the Chitauri for robots, and it certainly seems like you're just watching the same ending. They could have done something different, made it smaller and more personal, but instead it just went down the tried and trusted big, explosive battle route. Understandable, given the success of the previous films, but it would've been more satisfactory an end had the filmmakers taken on a chance on doing something else.
