9 Smartest Decisions In Action Movie History

8. The Fugitive - Shouting 'Richard' At Harrison Ford

Die Hard Bruce Willis
Warner Bros.

The Fugitive is the fantastic murder thriller where a guy calls out to Colonel Trautman, "It wasn't me - it was the one-armed, one-legged, one-eyed man!" No, wait, that was the Leslie Nielsen spoof Wrongfully Accused. The Fugitive is the edge-of-your seat thriller where Harrison Ford plays a doctor with a badass beard who is framed for his wife's murder.

During the course of the film Ford's character, Dr. Richard Kimble, manages to escape from a prison bus, outrun a train, and begin a campaign to clear his name and get revenge for his wife's murder. During this whole process Kimble is relentlessly chased by Deputy Marshal Sam Gerard, who is played by Tommy Lee Jones so well they eventually gave him his own movie.

Kimble is just barely able to stay one step ahead of Marshal Gerard through most of the movie - right up until a pivotal point when he stands to make a lot of headway. Thinking quickly Gerard sees Kimble in a stairwell and, rather than just yell "Hey Stop!" which anyone could ignore without much suspicion - he calls out Kimble's name. This causes Kimble to hesitate and Gerard realises he is only a few feet away from his prey.
