9 Superheroes Who Really Should Have Had A Movie By Now

6. Savage Dragon (Image Comics)

Pretty much every major comic book studio has released at least a couple of films about their flagship characters. Marvel have obviously released countless movies (X-Men, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Blade, Ghost Rider, Captain America, Daredevil etc), DC/Vertigo aren't too far behind (Superman, Batman, Watchmen, V For Vendetta, Steel, Swamp Thing, Constantine, Jonah Hex etc) and even Dark Horse have released a few (Hellboy, The Mask, Mystery Men, Barb Wire, R.I.P.D etc), yet Image Comics have only ever released Spawn. Although the film was critically slammed, Spawn made a $47m profit at the box office and you'd think that Image would exploit the comic book genre's success in recent times with the release of a movie of their next biggest character. Savage Dragon is a hugely popular and great character who is an officer in the Chicago Police Department and who received the name of "Dragon" due to his fin and green skin. The character has successfully crossed over on panel with the likes of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hellboy, Spider-Man, Vampirella, Sonic the Hedgehog and Superman, so he is more widely known than just with readers of his own titular comic - the success and popularity of which should, alone, be enough to warrant a movie.
