9 Teen Horror Movies That Are Actually Quite Scary
4. Happy Death Day
Blumhouse Production's Happy Death Day quickly became a hit after it's release in 2017. The black comedy horror concept follows Tree (yes, that's her name) who endures waking up on the same day over and over, with the catch being that this is also the day she is murdered.
Throughout the movie, Tree must figure out who the masked killer is and how she can break the loop before her body gets too hurt to recover.
Although the Groundhog Day concept has been used throughout cinema history, horrors of this style are scarce to none.
As a teen horror, however, there are a few cringey moments and the typical American acting is sometimes hard to endure, with an unnecessary amount of screaming and plot explanation. Audiences will be surprised with the ending and the many twists and the turns the film takes.
Last year the sequel Happy Death Day 2U hit cinemas, with a twist on the much favoured concept of the first movie.
