9 Things You Didn't Know About The Wolf Of Wall Street

9. The Real Jordon Belfort Appears In The Film

It may only be for a fleeting moment in the closing minutes of the film, but the real Jordon Belfort appears on-screen as an announcer introducing his fictional self played by DiCaprio. The scene in question is the very last one, in which the fictional Belfort has become a speaker for sales technique seminars after having been in prison for three years. The concept of watching someone else playing you in a film must be bizarre enough, but when you're asked to not only appear in a semi-biographical film about your life but also introduce your fictional self to an audience, the whole concept sounds surreal. The real Belfort obviously had no qualms with the idea - he performs his small part with as much eccentricity as you'd expect if Scorsese's portrayal of his earlier life is anything to go by. It's sometimes easy to forget that The Wolf Of Wall Street centred around a fraudulent business started by Belfort, and judging by his appearance in the film, he doesn't seem to be too bothered about the world knowing that he wasn't exactly a pillar of the community in his earlier years.
