9 Things Spectre Needs To Satisfy Diehard Bond Fans
3. The Villain Must Reveal His Or Her Plot To A Captured Bond
Bond may be a super spy, but hes not very good at evading capture. In most Bond novels and films, Bond inevitably fails badly at keeping his true identity a secret, landing in the clutches of the super villain hes attempting to thwart. For some reason, none of them get the bright idea to put two bullets in Bonds head so theres no chance hell stick around to foil their evil machinations. You can attribute this to most Bond villains being deranged egomaniacs. Instead of ensuring their plans stay on track, the villains usually give Bond a point-by-point break down of their plots, including the vital information Bond needs to save the day. Its a Bond convention almost as important as his signature drink order of a vodka martini, shaken not stirred. As weve noted before, Spectre loves cooking up showy, overly-elaborate plots. It would be a missed opportunity if the masterminds of the new Spectre didnt get one over on Bond, lock him up, and take time to gloat about how amazing they are at being evil so Bond can escape along with the conveniently-detailed information he needs to stop Spectres designs. It might be a cliché, but the Bond franchise invented the cliché.
