9 Things To Expect From Lord And Miller's Star Wars Han Solo Movie

7. Arch Comedy

For all its strengths, Star Wars hasn't really been that funny for a long time - the last proper laughs came back when Han Solo was still absolutely deluded and having tedious conversations with Stormtroopers over the Death Star intercom. Since then, things got dark with Empire, cute and Ewok-y with Jedi, and deadly serious with the prequels.

Seeing as Lord and Miller's backgrounds are in comedy movies alone, it's highly likely that they'll at least bring some humour back to the series with the Han Solo spin-off. There's no way Disney will allow the pair to do to the Star Wars saga what they did to the Jump Street franchise (i.e. completely take the piss out of it), and neither should anyone expect an out-and-out comedy, but things certainly won't be dour.

The Han Solo spin-off will most likely be the most serious movie Lord and Miller have ever made, but their way with comedy should still come in handy for Solo's early, more roguish years. It'll most likely be a dry, arch sort of humour - perfect for Han Solo, always the series' greatest comic asset.
