9 Things You Need To Know About Ben Affleck’s Batman
7. There'll Be A Suicide Squad Cameo
In David Ayer's star-studded villains-on-a-mission movie Suicide Squad, notorious DC baddies team up to fight crime in exchange for pardons on their evil wrongdoings, and it's here where Affleck's Batman will apparently first meet Jared Leto's version of the Joker, kickstarting that aforementioned Dark Knight Returns story arc. It's said that Batman will track down the Joker towards the film's close after he makes an escape from Arkham Asylum, in a scene that will set up that new standalone Batman movie. There have been reports that suggest Leto's Joker will spend much of Suicide Squad in prison, Hannibal Lecter-like, before he finally breaks free, prompting Batman to enter the movie and confront his old nemesis. It's said that the third issue of The Dark Knight Returns, which sees Batman pursue an escaped Joker, will provide the core influence for Affleck's first solo Bat-film, but it'll all start with Suicide Squad.
