9 Times Actors Famously Expressed Their Dissatisfaction

Wim Wenders became known in Germany for his singularly gorgeous films such as Wings of Desire, however his work suffered from English adaptation. Without Wenders's vision, it's just City of Angels.

HIs best English works were collaborations with playwright and actor Sam Shepard. But in the '90s, his American releases grew obnoxiously preachy. They're still technically gorgeous, but The End of Violence and Until the End of the World both drone on endlessly without ever really making any grand statement.

By 2000, Wenders was turning more of his attention to photography and documentaries (notably The Buena Vista Social Club), but he hadn't entirely moved away from fiction. The Million Dollar Hotel was another collaboration, this time with equally preachy songwriter Bono. It centered on a group of disparate L.A. hotel residents.

Mel Gibson signed on to play an FBI agent investigating a death, but the barebones plot description above doesn't really explain what watching it is like. For that, let's ask Mel:

"It's boring as a dog's a**!" he said at a press conference. His PR people tried to cover it up as a bad joke, a job that would prove in later years to be just untenable.

Kenny Hedges is carbon-based. So I suppose a simple top 5 in no order will do: Halloween, Crimes and Misdemeanors, L.A. Confidential, Billy Liar, Blow Out He has his own website - thefilmreal.com - and is always looking for new writers with differing views to broaden the discussion.
