9 Times Actors Majorly Spoiled Their Own Movies

Along with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, other epic franchises secrets are always kept behind closed doors, sworn to remain tight lipped by the actors who must promote the upcoming film that they are in. The Star Wars franchise is one of the longest running film series' to put this rule in place, with a large fanbase who are desperate to watch the next instalment to see if their favourite heroes have survived the latest battles with evil.

In 2005, Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith saw many characters meet their conclusions, including Marvel actor Samuel L Jackson's Mace Windu after Emperor Palpatine reveals his true intentions and Anakin cuts off his arm, betraying him. Like many Star Wars moments, audiences were shocked by the character's demise, but some found that Jackson actually gave away the reveal previously.

Before the rise of social media spoils in which the internet spread any information in upcoming films fast, the actor discussed re-shoots in an internet magazine interview, revealing that his favourite moment was watching his character die. Many fans were certain he was not going to make it into the franchise but would have probably preferred the reveal to happen in the film.
