9 TV Stars Who Horribly Botched Their Big Leap Into Films

4. Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria became a television sex symbol while she starred on Desperate Housewives. Though she stuck gold with the show through all eight seasons despite dwindling ratings, Longoria also attempted a big screen career while the series aired. She appeared in supporting roles in the mildly successful The Sentinel and The Heartbreak Kid, but her first starring role was in the movie Over Her Dead Body, a ridiculous romantic comedy that totally bombed in theatres and received a 15% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Her next film, Lowering Learning, did even worse. It only played in a single U.S. theatre and grossed $2804, and her next, Without Men, never even made it to U.S. theaters. Few of Longoria's subsequent films have made it to theatres even though she rarely has a lead role in them. Longoria has also become a mainstay at political rallies for U.S. Democrat politicians, but her dead-on-arrival movie career is quickly sapping any star power she could bring to politics.
