9 Unmade Guillermo Del Toro Projects We’d Love To See
7. Beauty And The Beast
The live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast was incredibly successful; audiences loved it and it made a fortune at the box office. However, it’s a few extra scenes away from being a carbon-copy of the animation.
What’s interesting is that Del Toro was originally attached to a live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, which would have been a brilliant match for many reasons, but chief among them is the potential for his creative imagination to run a little wilder.
The design for the ‘Beast’ in the live-action version was decent, but a Del Toro version of the Beast would be the stuff of nightmares, in the best way possible. We'll probbaly never see Del Toro's version of Beauty and the Beast, but at least we got to see a story with similar themes when Del Toro directed The Shape of Water.
