6. Justice League Dark
The DCEU is a slow moving franchise that has only recently begun to find its feet, with the recent successes of Shazam! and Aquaman. With this in mind, it’s surprising that the DCEU didn’t utilise the most visionary director in Hollywood in an attempt to compete with the MCU.
Had they done so - as was intended when he was attached to Justice League Dark - they might have actually succeeded in creating a truly fantastic film. Unfortunately, Del Toro left the project as a director a few years ago.
Guillermo Del Toro’s version of Justice League Dark would be a unique addition to the DCEU. Luckily, according to IMDb, Del Toro is attached to the project as an exec producer, assuming it ever comes out.
Let's hope this is accurate, because we are in dire need of more outstanding DCEU films.
