7. Black Panther
Marvel ComicsThere's been a fair bit of discussion about the lack of diversity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with all of the titular heroes so far being white males. That's not to say that there aren't any black characters (Nick Fury, Heimdall, James Rhodes, Falcon, Antoine Triplett etc) or females (Black Widow, Maria Hill, Pepper Potts, Melinda May, Skye etc), but none of them have been leading characters to date. Black Panther could rectify that issue. The character is one of Marvel's flagship characters and a number of leading actors have been linked with the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - the likes of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Anthony Mackie and Djimon Hounsou were all linked with the role, for example, before they played Kurse, Falcon and Korath respectively - and if a big name actor does indeed land the role, there is no reason whatsoever why the character can't become the main man of the franchise.
