Marvel ComicsThe Nova Corps are being introduced in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie, with John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, Glenn Close as Nova Prime Irani Rael and Peter Serafinowicz as a seemingly generic Nova Corps Officer. It goes without saying that this could potentially lead to the introduction of one of the characters known specifically as "Nova" in the Marvel comic books. Richard Rider is the most famous individual to carry the moniker and, despite James Gunn's proclamation of it not being the case, Nathan Fillion could well end up portraying the character in the future, after his confirmed cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy. If indeed Fillion is cast as Nova, he could quite easily become the new face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He's a good looking guy, he's likeable and Nova would epitomise the expansion into space of the franchise. Indeed, even if it's not Fillion in the role, Nova could quite easily become as big as Iron Man, given the character's potential.
