C.S. Lewis's beloved Chronicles Of Narnia is on its way back to cinema, but it sounds like they've made a hash of it long before the cameras have started to roll.

Producer Mark Gordon has confirmed plans to reboot Narnia with an adaptation of book four, The Silver Chair, alienating fans of the previous films in the process.

Narnia certainly has potential on screen, even if it is mostly downhill after you've read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but did this really need to be a reboot? All of the previous films made money at the box office and weren't exactly despised.

And if wiping the slate clean was deemed necessary, why not start again with an adaptation of the first book in the series, The Magician's Nephew, a story which has never been told on the big screen.

If the previous three films failed to meet studio expectations in any way, it's difficult to imagine a Silver Chair movie being the breakthrough hit its looking for.
